The concert band program is the heart of the Monarch High School band program. We have two concert bands: Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Students are placed into the Wind Ensemble based on auditions, which take place every year in late March or early April.

Parents and students should consider private lessons to supplement in-class instruction and improve musicianship. The more students we have in private lessons, the better the program will be. Any questions? Please contact Director of Bands, Chuck Stephen.

Colorado Band Masters Regional and State Festivals

In 2023, both Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble had excellent performances at concert band festivals.

Symphonic Band came within a few points of the cut off to attend the State Festival.

Wind Ensemble received a Superior rating at the Regional Festival, and went on to receive a Superior With Distinction rating at the State Festival!

Honor Band Recognition

Every year, Monarch musicians are part of the all-state and/or CU Honor Bands. Congratulations to these Monarch Band musicians who achieved placement in area ensembles based on application and/or audition!
