Marching Band Festival Schedule Change

Hello Monarch Band Students and Families,

We unfortunately have to make an adjustment to our Marching Band Schedule. 

We will NOT be attending the Legacy Marching Festival on September 26th and we will be rehearsing instead. Rehearsal will be from 8:30am - 3:30pm as usual, and then students will be dismissed after that and will be free to attend the dance later that evening if they wish. 

In place of the Legacy show, we will now be performing at the Lakewood Marching Festival on October 3rd! The show is a prelims-finals competition, so plan on an all day event (much like the Legacy Festival would be). The schedule will be shared as soon as I am able to provide it.

Some students have already expressed interest in attending the finals competition at the Legacy Festival on the 26th. At this time, there is no official plan to attend as a group, but students are welcome to attend as spectators in a group if they wish. Students would not be required to attend this if we decided to coordinate a group event.

If you are curious as to why this took place, it is because of an error that I made. I always work to ensure I set the band up for success, but I somehow missed registering for the Legacy Festival. I thought for sure that we were signed up, but I was shocked to find out today that we were not on the schedule and that our registration was not received. I tried everything I coud to get us added to the performance, but the show is full with a 4 band wait list.

I truly apologize for this error - especially to the seniors, who this impacts the most. The good news is that we are not losing any performance experience, as we are luckily able to replace that show with the Lakewood Festival on October 3rd. I can assure you that there are no other issues with our show schedule for this season. The band is doing great and I cannot wait to see where they can go at State this year!
