Virtual Tag Day - Tips for Support

Virtual Tag Day is here! Tag Day is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and Virtual Tag Day lets students raise support online from friends and family outside our door-to-door zones.


Parents, how you can help:

  • Encourage your student to message 10 - 20 contacts — we're giving them an easy template

  • Share the link yourself with a few people in your circle, social media, etc.

  • Help them set a goal — $200/student is a great target

  • Share this link to our donation form: https://www.monarchbands.org/donate


Students, what to do:

  • Set your goal — aim for $200 (10 people giving $20, or a few bigger gifts)

  • Message at least 10 - 20  people — text, email, call them directly (they will love this!) or social media

  • Share a link to the donation page: https://www.monarchbands.org/donate

  • Say thank you when they give — a quick reply goes a long way!


Students, how to make an ask:

  • Keep it short, personal, and genuine — people respond to authenticity, not a sales pitch. Include:


Why it matters:

  • Funds instruments, uniforms, transportation, and competition costs

  • Reaches grandparents, out-of-town relatives, and family friends who can't answer the door but want to support your student

  • Virtual Tag Day runs along side Tag Day by extending our reach and driving more impact.


Good to know:

  • Donations go through our secure Monarch Bands website

  • New this year - supporters can give monthly gifts - even $10 per month can make a big difference

  • All gifts are tax-deductible

"Hi [Name], I'm raising money for my school's marching band through our Virtual Tag Day fundraiser. Band has meant a lot to me, and this helps cover instruments, uniforms, and travel to competitions.
