Parents, Guardians, Monarch Band Members and Alumni -

As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, I want to share my excitement for the year ahead - and my appreciation for everything that's brought us to this moment. For those I haven’t met, my name is John Humphreys and I’m honored to serve as your Board President for the 2026 - 2027 season.

Years of dedicated directors, committed families, volunteers and most importantly, our hardworking students have built something worth being proud of. Our role as a booster board is to build on that foundation - strengthening the organization behind the scenes so the program can continue to grow and thrive.

This year, we're focusing our energy in three areas:

  • Financial Strength & Transparency

  • Community & Parent Engagement

  • Fundraising & Program Growth

Here's what that means for your family.

Financial Strength & Transparency

Strong programs are built on strong financial foundations — and we want to make ours even stronger.

We're committed to continuing to build a well-managed, transparent booster organization that current and future families can trust. This year we have already enabled digital payments via CutTime and have refined our budgeting and planning processes. But we are just getting started. We are working to review and evolve our bylaws to reflect shifts in payments and financials as well as making current and historical financial data available to families on an ongoing basis. We believe that greater visibility into the organization's finances helps spur ideas and empowers better decisions together.

Our goal is an organization that's as well-run as the program it supports.

Community & Parent Engagement

The Monarch Band community has always been one of its greatest strengths — and speaking personally, it has had an impact on my family’s life and experience at Monarch High School - and we want to keep building on it.

Whether you're a brand-new family just finding your footing or a returning family who's been part of this community for years, we want you to feel genuinely welcomed, informed, and involved. This year we'll be strengthening onboarding for new parents, expanding volunteer opportunities, and actively welcoming families who want to take on a larger role — including future board members.

No matter how much or how little time you have, there's a place for you here. Your skills, experiences and ideas are welcome. Find the right volunteer opportunity here!

Fundraising & Program Growth

The Monarch Band program has a lot of momentum — and we want to channel that into even more opportunities for students.

Our goal isn't simply to raise more money, but to build a more sustainable fundraising model that grows alongside the program. That means modernizing how we fundraise, strengthening the Monarch Marching Band's presence in the broader community, expanding local business sponsorships, and investing in our alumni network — all in service of more experiences, better equipment, and greater opportunities for your students.

A stronger community presence means more support for the program now and in the years ahead.

We're glad you're here — and we need you!!

The Monarch Marching Band program is at an exciting moment. We have a strong foundation to build on, and exciting updates in the works that we can't wait to share with you in the coming weeks.

But the most important ingredient in all of it is you.

This program thrives when families show up — as volunteers, as advocates, as community members who are invested in creating something great for our kids, our school, and the Monarch Band legacy.
