State Championship WEEK!
Dear Monarch Band Students and Families - it is official, we are second place in 4A going into the State Championships Next Week! Please see this email for the details of next week’s schedule. This schedule will be reflected on the Band Calendar asap.
State Championship WEEK!
Students will be allowed homework time Tuesday-Thursday in Band Classes. Please ensure your student is prepared to work on homework, get caught up on missing assignments, or get ahead in their classes during this time.
Monday, October 19th - Marching Music in Class, Rehearsal 6:00pm-9:00pm
Tuesday, October 20th - Homework time IN BAND CLASS, Rehearsal 6:00pm-9:00pm
Wednesday, October 21st - Homework time IN BAND CLASS, Rehearsal 6:00pm-9:00pm
Thursday, October 22nd - Homework time IN BAND CLASS, Rehearsal 6:00pm, SEND OFF SHOW 8:00pm, Percussion Load Trailer after send off show (8:20pm)
Friday, October 23rd - Senior Speeches 6:00pm-8:00pm (an important event honoring our seniors - students must attend and dress nicely - Senior Parents encouraged to attend!).
STATE SEMI-FINALS & FINALS:
Saturday, October 24th @Falcon Stadium, U.S. Air Force Academy
PARENTS
BASE CLEARANCE REMINDER - EVERYONE 18 AND OLDER MUST COMPLETE THIS - INCLUDING STUDENTS OVER 18!
Since this trip is further away and a long day, we need everyone to fill out this permission slip and fill out the forms attached within and return to Mr. Vandermeer by Friday, October 23rd.
Parents - We need YOUR support to make State Championships successful. Please see the Band Website and sign up to support our Monarch Band students as they compete for the final time in the 2026 Marching Band Season!
STATE ITINERARY
9:00am - Call Time @Monarch HS
9:30am - Load Buses
10:00am - Departure
12:20pm - Estimated Arrival on Site - EAT LUNCH (provided)
1:20pm - Percussion Warmup
1:40pm - Band Body/Color Guard Warm Up (CG join band after warm up ends @2:10)
2:15pm - Band Music Warmup
2:20pm - Percussion Warmup ends - Battery head to band music lot
2:45pm - Winds/Drums/Guard head for Pre-Stage
2:55pm - ON DECK
3:00pm - PERFORM SIMPLE GIFTS AT SEMI-FINALS!
3:15pm - Photos
3:30pm - Return to truck, stage percussion gear
3:45pm - Return to stadium
4:00pm - Semi-Finals Awards
THE REST OF THE EVENING IS DETERMINED BY OUR SEMI-FINALS RESULTS. IF WE MAKE FINALS, WE WILL STAY TO PERFORM IN FINALS! Nothing is guaranteed, everything is earned - but I am expecting that we will stay within the top 8. If we do not make finals, we will stay to watch bands.
ESTIMATED EVENING SCHEDULE
5:00pm - Eat Dinner (provided)
5:50pm - 7:35pm - Warmup OR Watch finals bands
7:30pm - 9:15pm - Perform OR Watch finals bands
9:30pm - FULL RETREAT & CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS
If we make finals we will stay for the full retreat experience and awards. Trucks will also need to be loaded and returned to Monarch. The estimated departure time is somewhere around 11:00pm. Estimated return to Monarch is between 12am-1am.
PERCUSSION WILL UNLOAD THE PERCUSSION TRAILER AFTER WE RETURN.
