Monarch High School Bands

The Percussion ensemble plays in concert bands (wind ensemble and symphonic band) and marching band, and the members have the option of playing in the Monarch Indoor Percussion (MIP) ensemble.

In Marching Band and MIP, percussion is broken up into two sections: battery (the group that marches on the field) and pit (the stationary instruments at the front of the group).

Marching band season runs from August (when band camp starts) through October (state finals). MIP season lasts from January (when rehearsals start) to April (state finals). Percussion also plays with the concert bands and any competitions or shows those groups participate in during the year.
