Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year
This year's band program is shaping up to be an exciting one, and there's a lot we'll all be doing together to make it a success. I want to start the year by setting clear expectations for how I and the Band Boosters will communicate with you throughout the season.
The website is now our home for information. It will always have the most up-to-date details about what is expected, and you can visit it any time at monarchbands.org.
Here's how we'll keep you in the loop:
Every Monday, we'll send a CutTime message with a Weekly Band Update (this message), covering the most important things happening that week, with links to full details on the website. For our veteran parents, this weekly update replaces the monthly newsletter.
Occasionally, we have a special longer CutTime message covering a specific topic that requires full attention. (ie. This week it was a message about Tag-Day.)
During the week, you may get a courtesy reminder or two via CutTime — nothing you shouldn't already know about.
Rarely something urgent or last-minute comes up, we'll send a CutTime message right away and make sure the website reflects the change too.
We've made some bold changes to the website this year as part of a broader push to grow the band program. We want the site to be a real home for the community that supports this program, so they can celebrate our successes and enjoy the concerts that were made possible by their donations. We also want to continue refining the new Members area with protected information and tools, like volunteer sign-ups and event details, so that you always have what you need in one place. Consider our new website the first draft of that vision.

We need your feedback. Please tell us what's working and what isn't about the new site. You can send an email directly to webmaster@monarchbands.org with your thoughts. There is also a "Feedback" button in the footer of every page that allows you to send anonymous feedback if you like. We can't fix something if we don't know it's broken.

Tag-Day
This Saturday August 15th is Tag-Day. For our new parents, this iconic community event allows the band to raise a significant amount of money for the band program. A fleet of parent volunteers drive our band students out to various neighborhoods in the 80027, and then escort them as they walk door-to-door in full uniform requesting financial support for the band program.
We still have a few roles to fill for Saturday. Jump in and please Sign-Up now.
Starting Wednesday August 12th, we advertise Virtual Tag-Day, which is an additional way we can fundraise directly through our website and Colorado Gives.

Booster Board Meeting
The August Booster Board Meeting is on Tuesday at 7pm. NEW LOCATION for tonight is the Monarch High School Band Room. If you have feedback about the new website, come tell us in person! Webb the webmaster will be there to answer your questions and hear your needs.
